I randomly picked five film titles from Rotten Tomatoes' Top 100 Horror Movies to make poters for.
The opening scene is one of the rooms of the house suspended in a black void, so I did the same with the inside of the treehouse.
The film is in black and white, so I used an achromatic image of my hand. The original poster shows the main characters and is a bit crowded, so I wanted my poster to be more minimal.
An iconic scene from the film is Orlock's shadow walking up the stairs, so I cut out a silhouette of him, so I could re-create the shadow.
The title sequence for Re-Animator has coloured illustrations of human anatomy, so I drew a head to use in the poster. I made the brain green to symbolise the re-agent being injected into the brain.
Crawl is about a hurricane destroying a town, which leads some alligators to it. I made the crocodile's pupil the shape of a hurricane warning symbol.
